This is a poem I found in a notebook of mine from the eighth grade...

I tried to wipe your tears away
And I tried to make you smile,
I tried to call you yesterday
Because it's been a while,
I tried to say I miss you
And I tried to let you go,
I tried to say I love you
But now you'll never know.
